We will always cherish the memories of our coach and his legacy will live on in his boys and grandchildren. Until we see each other again, I know my mom and daddy were waiting for you at heaven’s door with open arms. Our love and prayers to Judy, Jimbo and Jason. The beauty of growing up in a small town was the closeness the community felt for each other (even though as kids we didn’t appreciate it). Coach Clark, like so many other teachers as BCISD, took their jobs at educators beyond the classroom. So many life lessons were taught on the field of play.

Coach Clark was an excellent role model for all students and coaches. We all shared many great times together that will never be forgotten. The gates of Heaven will be wide open to welcome Coach Clark. My fondest memory of Coach was the day he took pity on a girl who had just moved to Bishop from Maryland and did not make her run in the 90-degree heat!

He was one of Mickey’s best friends all through the years. Always positive and a great example to our students. Judy was also an outstanding addition to our office staff. Coach Clark was one of the best humans I ever knew. I know he will be missed, but his legacy will live on in the thousands he loved and influenced. We love and enjoyed our time with the Clark family when they lived in Bishop, TX. Prayers of comfort for the family.

Coach Clark gave me some wonderful memories and great lessons during my years as a student at BHS. He took on a few girls and coached them to win many races despite the obstacles of having no track of their own to practice at. I will always remember his wonderful smile. Due to its people, the Texas Panhandle is the best area. We have gorgeous sunsets and wide open spaces, where a windless day is appreciated more than most.

We remained good friends after I left the coaching profession, and we continued our friendship enjoying a friendly game of golf. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Clark family. May you feel God’s loving arms around you giving strength, comfort, and peace. We had some fun times in Bishop as neighbors. We really had some good times on Tubbs St. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Judy and all family.
In the late 1970’s, Alton’s sons Richard and Robert in Perryton and Spearman were given the opportunity to take over ownership and Ivan’s sons, Jim and Mike, took over ownership and operation of the Amarillo facility. Ivan’s sons and Alton’s sons now own their respective locations and are not connected with one another directly. We maintain a good relationship and help one another as the need arises, but the two businesses remain separate entities.
While I didn’t personally know Jim, I have the pleasure of working with his wonderful son, Jason, and witness the wonderful character traits, leadership and care for others that were instilled in his son. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, John Wayne fan, and above all family man. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, an old fashioned western, or a good ole road trip.
We loved Coach Clark and Judy in the years they were here in Lockney. Sweet neighbors to my parents and our son’s high school football coach. He was such a kind man and cared for his students. Judy, we send our love to you and the boys. What an honor it was to work alongside him in Alice, Texas, America.
